TGIF!! Why Today Has Been a Great Day

Today has been a great day. Despite having a bad thunderstorm and waiting in a long line for gas at Giant, it hasn’t been that bad. And I’ll give you just a few good reasons why:

1.       I got gas for $3.19/gallon today. I can’t remember the last time I spent less than $45 to fill up my gas tank. If you haven’t signed up for a Giant rewards card you should – not only do you save every time you shop. But for every $100 you spend you get .10cents off a gallon when you fill up at their gas station. However, everyone’s points expire at the same time so you wind up waiting in line for 20 minutes like I did but it wasn’t too bad.

2.      I am having a relaxing, quiet evening in. Which I haven’t done in weeks or even week nights as of late. Apparently, not working 70 hours  a week does have its perks and allows you to be a social butterfly. I did not even make myself dinner for I will treat myself to Rita’s later. It is just me and Phoebe watching Elvis’ movies and catching up on my TiVo.

3.      Today was pay day. Pay day always means a good day until you pay the rent and bills.

4.      I found a new iPhone app that I absolutely love and adore. While it has been a pain in my butt and a depressing experience – it also has been awakening. I thought I was a pretty good healthy eater until I calculated out my calories vs. exercise with MyFitnessPal. This app was a recommendation by some friends who are going through some awesome weight loss journeys right now. I have been doing pretty well for the past 2 days, that I have been using the app. I’m looking to get a stationary bike to exercise on while I watch TV. I’ll take any recommendations anyone has and of course, it has to be light weight and easy to store because I live in a 3rd floor apartment with very limited storage and by limited storage I mean one closet that doesn’t have room for anything else but my clothes at the moment. This app is absolutely free - you can link to your twitter and facebook accounts. It even has it's own social networking forums to share recipes and share encouragement with other people!

6.      Indiana State Fair Stage Collapse Victim has Multiple Angels For those that doubt God and why tragedies happen. I’m a huge believer in everything happens for a reason. Despite having hard times in our lives, those times are to bring out our best and our strength. This story is a true display of that. Please don’t mistake my praise for this good story out of the sadness of the tragedy because the 6th person has lost their life today. Hopefully,  people have learned from this experience so we don’ t have to experience it again.

7.      It is Friday. Can anyone tell me why they don’t like a Friday? TGIF!!!!

8. The biggest reason why today has been a good day

I have always loved Anderson Cooper ever since I saw on Channel One in Junior High. His fabulous hosting capabilities of The Mole. His guest spots on 60 Minutes. His own CNN show AC 360. His memoir “Dispatches from the Edge”. His strong avocation for Hurricane Katrina support and his compassion about all his new stories. My favorite segment on his show is the RidicuList – Anderson has made himself quite the news item this week when he got a case of the giggles during his presentation but why wouldn’t you during this ridiculous news story?
Anderson is so down to earth, so lovable and those cheeks. How could you not resist that face? Oh, I forgot to mention his silver foxy hair – that is what makes him so gosh darn attractive. I just love him all around. Check out this clip below of him surprising the Elvis Duran Morning show in New York City this week:
SEPTEMBER 1ST BABY! I will get to see Anderson in action on his brand new syndicated talk show premiering September 12th! My mom, dear friend and myself will get to see a taping or maybe even multiple tapings of his show.
